Festive season to see host of new auto launches

Maruti Suzuki, the leader in passenger cars, has re-launched its Zen Esitlo to give a more aggressive and muscular look. All auto majors are now ensuring their products are euro 4 compatible, which becomes mandatory from 2010.
Shinzo Nakanishi, Managing Director, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “We are making changes to make products euro 4 compatible—sometimes changing just engine, sometimes more, exterior interior etc.”
CNBC-TV18 learns Suzuki Motorcycle is all set to re-launch 125 cc bike Zeus by the end of this month. The company also has plans to bring in its 1000 cc bike, GSX R 1000 by December and will priced at Rs 12.5 lakh.
Hero Honda is all geared up to launch its 225 cc all new Karizma by the end of next month. This bike will be based on fuel injection technology. Hero Honda will also launch refurbished models of its existing bikes.
Car maker Hyundai will launch its new Santro with some cosmetic changes. The new Santro 1.1 litre petrol engine will be made euro compliant as well.
GM's Sedan Cruze will be out by the end of September. That will take on VW's Jetta and the Honda Civic. GM is working on its mini car too based on the beat concept showcased in Geneva Motor Show last year. The auto majors are already seeing a robust growth this fiscal and is likely to close the year with healthy double digit growth. Industry experts say that in the coming months. Sales will go up with the festive season coming in and more new products and their variants are expected.
